Balenciaga is founded by a Spanish designer Cristobal Balenciaga. Born in the Basque Country with a wide recognition for one's deeds as a couturier of adamant standards and was referred to as "the master of us all" by Christian Dior. The house of Baleciaga is now owned by the French Multinational company PPR, specializing in retail shops and luxury brands.

The first ever boutique was opened in 1914 in San Sebastian, Spain by Cristobal Balenciaga, which expanded to include branches in Madrid and Barcelona. Abercrombie and Fitch was founded by David Abercrombie in 1892 as Abercrombie Co. Abercombie was then later joined by Ezra Fitch in 1900 which had brought the official name Abercrombie & Fitch Co. Abercrombie owned a samll shop and factory producing camping equipment in lower Manhattan. He is also a former prospector, miner, trapper and engineer. Fitch was a lawyer in Kingston, New York.
